......... The Managing Director of Lee Travel, Declan O'Connell, is looking to dispel any worries customers may have by reaffirming that holidays booked with Irish travel agents are guaranteed.
“There has been a lot of discussion on the stability of the travel trade recently, however, as one of the most regulated industries in Ireland, consumers should have no fears when dealing with travel agents that are members of the Irish Travel Agents Association (ITAA) and fully bonded and licensed.
"What many Irish holiday-makers don’t seem to appreciate is that your holiday is guaranteed even if your travel agent goes out of business". All tour operators and travel agents trading in Ireland are required by law to be licensed and bonded to buy or sell overseas travel originating in Ireland to destinations outside the country.
The closure of City Travel last week saw the loss of six jobs. Senior Travel Consultant with City Travel, Mary Jones, has taken up a role with Lee travel in order to manage the City Travel client portfolio and ensure customers are taken care of.
