The Hope Foundation is an Irish charity working for the street children of Calcutta (now known as Kolkata).  Currently HOPE funds over 60 projects for street children and their families in Kolkata in the areas of: education, healthcare, accommodation, vocational training, counselling and advocacy. HOPE was established in 1999 in response to the terrible plight of the abandoned and abused street children of Kolkata who face a bleak future of poverty, disease, violence and death.

These children desperately need our help. YOU can help us offer them a better future.

The HOPE Himalayan Walk is a breathtaking trek in the Himalayan foothills in the north of India all in aid of a great cause.  There could be no better way of exploring the natural wonders of the Himalayas than on foot. Stretching for almost 1,000 miles, the world’s youngest and loftiest mountains are a treasure trove of life.  The areas we will be exploring are located in the northern state of Sikkim and in the environs of Kalimpong, West Bengal.

This fantastic 2-Week Trip includes: 

Walking in the Himalayan foothills in the north Indian state of Sikkim and in Kalimpong, West Bengal, and visits and voluntary work on HOPE’s projects working with street children and their families in Calcutta. This is a medium-difficulty trek in a moderate climate, walking in forests, spice plantations and through local villages and farmland.

All profits go to HOPE’s projects in Calcutta.
